The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 两位主角直至影片过半才相遇，前半部分无关紧要的情节太多而显得故事散乱，好在后半部分集中于两人情感的碰撞与堆积而渐入佳境。男一在男二的刺激与启发下，认清了内心，卸下了伪装，冲破了压抑，找寻到自我，拥有了属于彼此的私人荒漠。

原以为是来自異鄉的孤独男人寻找爱情的故事，然而后半部分视角转换为小镇里异装癖男孩後，才发现这部影片处理的是关于身份与内在冲突的问题，意思就是说，某个人因为某一个内心的困惑而发生一系列的故事，然后这个故事的结局就是他对生活的态度产生了变化。
在影院看是会被冲击到心跳加速的程度，不过这部的节奏应该对很多人是硬伤。以及毕竟是hearts环节的片，观众里好多les/gay couple……
不要尝试理解这部电影，真的不要。

同片泛滥的时代，三分钟没有船戏已劝退99%的观众了……难得本片细腻柔软的讲述，两位男主表演上乘、诚意满满，給父亲打电话想诉说的那段尤其到位、令人共情，很好很好的电影…4星
惊喜之作！完成度极高，在发廊的戏竟然让我竟然有了一种王家卫的即视感。整个剧本戏剧冲突足够，张力极大。人物性格转变也非常合理，非常推荐去看
在前面的长铺垫下，丹尼尔转变的契机看起来非常脆弱，以前期的人物塑造走向来看他的自尊心彻底崩溃再次走向暴力更有说服力。
人生充满无奈，也许就是要不断面临告别，大概就是电影想告诉我们的吧。
