The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 爽片，动作戏很棒。但马东锡就像大力神，碾压一切，没有痛感，过程中只有爽而不会为角色有任何担心了
吐槽如下：哈哈，欺负越南是吧，你韩国怎么不跑美国跨国执法啊？诶，你告诉我，非要中国黑帮出场30s然后被屠杀的意义在哪？警察局没人了，非要找个混混开车？
严格来说3星半吧。因为在韩国票房很高才来看的，但这，所有的套路也太按照第一部来了吧，很多时候都不知道是在call back，还是单纯想偷懒。孙锡久的演技真不错，那段因为极度愤怒当场捅义警的场面，真的演得好到位。就犯罪都市系列的反派，狠归狠，都没什么战略思考，有点工具人倾向。
和第一部流程几乎一模一样，反派杀人，被对方亲信追杀，转而去杀对方亲信，将对方团灭，最后被马东锡以暴制暴制服，过程中穿插着反派的几个跟班，跟班暴毙。还可以，看起来很爽很过瘾，穿插着些笑料，很解压。

已经过了看爽片可以不在乎逻辑问题的年纪了，为自己遗憾
看马东锡打人挺爽的，孙锡久挺迷人的，that's all.

编剧够省事，拿第一集做模板稍微改改换波悍匪又一集，而且比起第一集更加的粗线条，当然片子主要看点是马东锡揍人，咣咣一顿老拳，跟绿巨人虐菜似的，爽劲十足，越南那几段比后面好看，而且最后公交车那场boss战跟《东北警察故事》很像啊。
第一部的张谦成了梗，反派战力下降的太低，暴力值下降很多，但是爽就完了！管那么多干啥，剧情跟着动作戏走也没毛病，总之完成度很好，期待下一步，这个系列跟johnwick有一拼。
十分解压，一拳大叔马东锡真的奥利给，最后把孙锡久都给抡懵了。韩影也真是够了，找个机会就想黑我大中国。
非常套路又非常欢乐，而且为什么结尾大战之前又出现那种神台词，“这钱咱们五五分吧！ 那谁拿五啊？”真是笑死了，哈哈哈哈，下一部是不是要给马叔认真找个对象啥的了，期待第三部。

还是老味道以暴制暴的刑警和不靠谱的队友们剧情简单粗暴，拳拳到肉的武打效果最后还给马东锡和反派真枪真刀干一仗让观众实属过瘾。话说棒子黑下外国人成习惯了嘛，不仅继续黑我们还黑越南。这样战狼的事情韩国人不也做的出来？
孙锡久太hot了，但角色不立体，远没有赵泰晤的形象丰满。可惜了。
整体情节没有第一部好，更为简单粗暴直接，以暴制暴！韩国警们全部都太软，只有马东锡的拳头强硬！看老马打架暴揍反派还是过瘾！还有那个来自黑龙江的大佬！
虽然故事没看就已经猜到了，不过有一说一，真的挺好的，首先人物塑造很到位，就十分期待两大猛男最后的硬碰硬，如果赢不要那么轻松就更好看了，显得对手太次了，其次影片节奏还算可以，清楚知道自己受众市场，搞笑、动作、肌肉该有的都有，马老师的个人英雄主义电影算是很成功的代表的了。
由于动作戏水准的提升，观感比第一部好，更直更简单的情节线，也极大提升爽度，纯娱乐片需要这样，别拐弯抹角，见招拆招层层递进即可。孙锡九稳压马东锡，无论是气场还是演技，后者只会装，实在没啥意思。
