The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 看海报搜的电影，果然是我钟情的武侠感，好多年没见到这种武侠的质感了。服化道不是现今流行的雪白干净影楼装，打斗也不是武术套路，网大中的一股清流啊。
反金庸的武侠片，林冲的故事加上武侠的皮加上西部片的背景
偶然因片名吸引找来看，看完感觉还行。台词，布景，好多《东邪西毒》的影子。
感觉除了剧情与人物塑造，各个方面都挺好的，镜头感、武打场面、背景乐等等都有点意思，有模样了，可惜了。一开场以为会有《双旗镇刀客》的样子的。

台词像东邪西毒，故事更像水浒传，甚至名字都不带改的，直接拿来就用，最离谱的是一个土匪头子死了，让一个捕快顶罪，而且太平镇才多大的地方，一个捕快权利才多大，后面还让土匪复活就狗血的剧情，谁下手不会补刀，整体节奏都非常平。
武打场面干净利落不拖沓，有绣春刀的那种感觉，剧情比较一般，五星给武打和对导演的鼓励，对演员的肯定
剧情一塌糊涂，节奏把握的很差劲，唯一的亮点是鬼刀林和长刀客两人在坟头拼刀的部分，在这里武指有大师风范了，懂得藏巧于拙。其他地方就不行了，两人最后那一段拼刀也很一般，完全就是比狠了。
命运都是幻像，一切早已发生。
勉强给3分吧。画面不错，风格有点《双旗镇刀客》、《东邪西毒》的味道。作为新人作品，看得出各种“致敬”的痕迹。剧情、表演、动作都有不少问题，结尾确实一般，最后一场决斗也没拍出震撼的感觉来。
故事虽然简单，演员略显青涩，台词没有太多的废话，主线足够简约，有些桥段略有些狗血，但能看出所有的重心都放在了打斗戏的设计上，让这部片子一看就足够沉稳，有魄力，其他的问题在坚实的打斗场景面前都瞬间可以忽略不计，一个字：爽！就行了。
虽然不懂刀法但是打戏挺用心的，难得。喜欢这种风格，希望继续保持
还算可以吧，配乐有点致敬老片的感觉，摄影的画面感还需要提升。
看了个寂寞，这个剧情也太六七十年代了吧，主角知道被陆谦害了，还能原谅他，这个真的是接受不了呀，不过质量还是比许多电影强多了
打戏还可以，文戏部分太敷衍了一点，网大里面还算可以的吧
满分给鼓励 可以看出导演在动作戏上下了极大的功夫 满满都是兵击实战的感觉 比徐皓峰那种臆想流传武更贴合实战 走出了自己的风格。超长刀超帅但真的冷门，印象中这还是第一部讲超长刀的电影。但是我还是控制不住自己在看片子的时候脑海里不停的念叨：来把大枪吊打所有长刀
格局小了，应该是预算不够，有几场动作戏还行
被海报吸引然后看口碑还不错就看了，第一部正经看的网大。既然是网大太较真也没必要，动作戏还行，就是“大卫”这名字未免太出戏了吧。
低成本拍成这样已经算是很用心了，武侠类型片要鼓励。
